John Adams Parents Visit Classrooms to Talk about Autism

In observance of April as Autism Awareness Month, Mildred Rivera, Yolie Carrasco, Katherine Walker and Jill Adams, parents of children diagnosed with autism from John Adams Elementary School, spoke about autism to all the general education classrooms.

The speakers talked about what autism is and shared personal information regarding their children and what their lives are like living with family members with autism. The parents and students alike were very open with asking and answering questions. The parents worked on an Autism Awareness display case for all to see as well.
