Congratulations to Valedictorian Eric Fries and Salutatorian Eleanor Kenimer and the entire T.C. Williams High School Class of 2011, graduating on Saturday, June 18.
Eric, who earned a 4.5 grade point average, will attend the University of Virginia, where he plans to earn a PhD and do research. An Advanced Placement (AP) Scholar with Distinction, he took AP Government, AP Psychology, AP Economics, AP Statistics, AP Physics and AP Literature. He belonged to National Honor Society, Math Honor Society and the Fightin' Titans. His other extracurricular activities included golf, umpiring for Alexandria Little League and serving as a volunteer assistant to the director of the Boys' Club at Douglas MacArthur Elementary School
Eleanor, who earned a 4.48 grade point average, will attend Duke University, where she plans to major in biology or environmental science. Also an AP Scholar with Distinction, she took AP English classes, AP Environmental Science, AP Government, Logic, AP Calculus A-B and AP Psychology. She belonged to National Honor Society and also participated in T.C. Williams theater productions, the Didactic Guild (a tutoring group) and Track and Field.
